In ancient Rome, where the median age of death for men was 46, you basically worked until you keeled over. The early Christians saw the possibility of virtue in old age, in the belief that you could become more spiritually contemplative as your body wore down. In contrast, everything about America — our optimism, our faith in technology, maybe most of all our refusal to believe we're not exceptional — impels us to see old age as a challenge to meet, a problem to solve. As Barbara Walters put it in an April prime-time special, "Live to be 150. Can you do it?"

Whether it's medicine showmen, pioneers of cryonics or "life extensionists," anti-aging salesmen have cropped up in every epoch of American history. And now our own era is taking the fight against aging into an entirely new financial realm. The U.S. market for anti-aging products and services is growing rapidly and will hit $72 billion in 2009, according to "Nutraceuticals International," a trade publication. Three trends, each feeding boomers' quest for immortality, are fueling the current boom.”

This article continues with these interesting facts:

“First, scientists are unlocking several key factors in the aging process, generating headlines about how it might be slowed or reversed. In studying metabolism, for example, researchers have zeroed in on proteins called sirtuins, specifically one called SIRT1, which apparently control age-related illnesses in other organisms. Resveratrol, a substance found (in small amounts) in red-grape skins and red wine, is believed by some scientists to boost sirtuins in humans, which has triggered excitement about its potential benefits. Biogerontologists have also started to understand what makes cells age. IGF-1, for instance, is an insulin-like hormone that tells cells to grow; mTOR is a protein that shapes how cells respond to chemical instructions. By altering the pathways of these substances, scientists might be able to stop cells from dividing — that is, from aging. Other researchers are exploring the effects of the enzyme telomerase, which could thwart the natural tendency of chromosomes to break apart as cells age. And beyond these possibilities, stem cells hold out the promise that doctors might someday be able to regenerate body tissue or even grow whole new replacement organs.”

Then the article presents this interesting statement:

“Nobody knows exactly how many people have received treatments at antiaging clinics, though the number is probably in the millions”

This article then goes even bolder with this attention grabbing assertion:

“And that brings us to the … trend abetting the antiaging boom: Regular physicians all over the country are adding anti-aging treatments to their practice. The medical establishment does not recognize aging as a disease to be cured. And antiaging is not a medical specialty, according to the American Medical Association and the American Board of Medical Specialties (which puts the "board" in "board-certified"). But doctors are signing up with organizations such as the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine and the Age Management Medicine Group, attending their conventions, learning about the latest purported antiaging techniques — and using their own offices and equipment to hawk treatments to patients. Sales of supplements by doctors and nurses increased 874 percent from 1997 to 2004, according to "Natural Products Insider," a trade publication. The academy's top executives have estimated that for every antiaging patient they sign up, doctors generate $4,000 to $20,000 in new annual revenue. Moreover, it now counts more than 17,000 physicians as members.”

Finally this article wraps up with this famous item:

“In 1933, Time magazine reported the secret to long life, as given by an aged Chinese man named Li Ching-Yuen: "Keep a quiet heart, sit like a tortoise, walk sprightly like a pigeon, and sleep like a dog." Li supposedly lived to the age of 256. “

Ben Abba is co-authoring a soon to be released book with Dr. Wayne Dyer, Tony Robbins, Bill Harris, and Brian Tracey Live.

This book will focus on the Wake Up Moment: that instant or event that helped us find our purpose, and which awaken our passion. Still nothing really prepared me for the day I successfully located and made contact with a man who's real age is nearly 2,800 years old.

I have heard in many biblical and non-biblical writings about "everlasting life". Is it at all possible that maybe, just maybe, some of these writings were talking about physical everlasting life? I thought so, so I went on a safari, figuratively speaking, to find the oldest person alive. To my astonishment I found someone that has vivid memories going beyond 120 years. In fact, way beyond.

If such a person, a real person, exists, that has seen many years of history, what would the history they experienced be like compared to the history we have all been told about? What questions would you ask someone who is 120 years old? Or someone 200 years old? Or maybe someone who has lived more than 500 years? What if you met someone that has lived more than 1,000 years?

Throughout my life, I have seen and experienced events that differ from what I was told about in newspapers and TV. One such event was meeting someone who according to our culture should not exist; yet he does, in the flesh.

The gentleman that I have made friends with has spent most of his life in the various countries that surround the Mediterranean Sea. And yes, he was living near Jerusalem around 2,000 years ago. How I found this amazing man is a long story that would take a book just to describe all of the details. For now, let me just say that I used my unique researching skills to find this special man. I do not know if it is even possible to prove he is older than 150 years. Certainly this has helped him fit in with the rest of us. However, as I spoke with him, the eyewitness accounts of 2,800 years of history make it difficult to believe he is anything but an immortal.

The stories he has to tell are too incredible to ignore. Some of his storied relate to our current history and some contradict current speculation. As crazy as this sounds, from my research, I now have to believe that there are people living among us who are 200 years of age, and older. And they have all blended themselves within our civilization so well, it is nearly impossible to distinguish them from a typical senior citizen.

So, for now, I am writing down all of this man’s stories and will soon be releasing them in a book for all to digest, enjoy, and discuss. In the meantime, I will try to figure out what evidence I can find that would prove this man is a real immortal. Obviously there is no such thing as a Roman Empire Chariot Driver's License or an Israeli Passport signed by King David to rely on for absolute proof. He has a few trinkets older than 2,000 year. And I know, if the opportunity presents itself, I could try to get a blood or saliva sample to perform a DNA test on. Even if I cannot prove his true age, I certainly can present his eyewitness observations of the birth of our western civilization. And the stories he has told me so far are all priceless.

However the real reason I searched out this supercentenarian was to discover his secrets for surviving more than 150 years. This to me is the real treasure here. Stay tuned for future podcasts on these priceless secrets of achieving immortality.”

Here is a response to one of Ben Abba’s posts concerning achieving from "Michael":

“Hello, came across your blog and wanted to post some comments, and hopefully, helpful tips. Since we do not know each other, I do not have a way to place into "context" everything you commented on. So if I mention something that seems redundant or obvious please do not take it disrespectfully, I am just trying to be thorough. Also, I want to say upfront that although remarkable claims require remarkable proof, only an open mind can find that proof and I am in no way trying to "deflate" what you are attempting to do.

First, There is no reason that a person could not be born and live an unusually long time. In fact, the basis of evolutionary biology, is that of the “random mutation”, which in certain circumstances happens to be beneficial to the organism and causes the organism to have an advantage that extends life. The natural conclusion to this process would be an organism that does not die do to genetic factors. These “immortals”, already exist in nature, and are undisputedly documented and accepted by mainstream science. Biological Immortality

Evolution has not stopped, so there is no reason a person could not have such an abnormality. With all of the nonbiological ways to die, accidents, war’s, etc, it’s possible there could have been countless that never knew they were biologically immortal because they ended up dying in other ways.

On your methods for finding, "candidates", for immortality. I myself am an adept at "data mining", having spent several years as a bail enforcement officer, or "bounty hunter", before my current occupation, and now a days it is amazing what can be found by a motivated individual with some keystroke capability. I would however caution you that there are two problems with data mining. The first is, people, and the second is, people.

First, there are countless errors whenever data is input by people into a system. I recognized this the first time I downloaded my credit report. In the second case the error lies not in the mistake, but in the lie. An example of this that would complicate your endeavor happened in both Russia, and Japan during WW2, as men claimed to be older than they truly were to escape being drafted into combat.

Many cases of men living so long, I’ve even heard of up to 150+, can be found but are not a miracle of nature so much as "draft dodgers" who listed there ages back in the 1930's as 65 or older but who were actually only middle aged. I personally, in my work, met a man of age 80 who looked younger than I did, age 28, at the time. Now of course he had obtained his fathers identity after his father’s death (which he did not report) so he could receive his father’s social security and pension, and it was a clear case of identity theft.

Again I say, I am not berating your research because I have not seen it, I am just being thorough. And if I was to start a search for such a person, that is probably how I would begin it. As for your other listed methods, dowsing and physics, well, lets just agree to disagree. Whether or not dowsing or psychics are real or not is not even so much the case as whether or not they produce “actionable intelligence”. I have no idea how serious you are about this, but I would give you a piece of friendly advice; if you truly want to get a benefit from this quest, be it just simply curiosity satisfied, or helping the rest of us slowly dying masses get a glimpse of the divine spark, keep the research as grounded as possible. It would be a complete shame, if you would have such an amazing person on your hands, with all the potential benefits, and nothing useful ever came of it because no one took you or him seriously. Amazon.com is full of books about amazing things and people that will never benefit anyone because they get listed under “paranormal”, and it becomes impossible for an average person to separate the “wheat from the chaff”. That said; Let me reward your patience with my long letter, by attempting to make myself useful.

First, Getting D.N.A and other evidence is relatively easy. Once an individual places trash outside for pick-up, he or she loses all rights to it. Police officers use this all the time to get D.N.A and other evidence without a warrant. The best way is to drive by, survey the trash, then purchase matching trash bags. Fill the matching trash bags with crumbled paper and such, and then switch the bags. It takes like ten seconds. The reason you replace the bags with your new ones, is in case the person looks out the window, you don’t want him wondering why his trash is missing lol. Trash is AWSEOME. Think of all the things you throw away, all the little pieces of your life that indicate what you eat, drink, what bills you have etc. Even people who tend to shred there important paperwork before throwing it away, tend not to shred the envelopes it came in. You get medicine bottles, store receipts. You Name it. This would give you a LEGAL and relatively unobtrusive window into the mans life. It could also solve your questions without additional hassle. If the man is throwing out insulin needles, or heart meds, he’s probably not the immortal you’re looking for. And of coarse, there are usually several forms of DNA in the trash, and should you get a sample I recommend: National Geographic the reason I recommend sending DNA here, is that should this man truly be 2,000+ years old, You will have your proof. My family has contributed to this project, and it costs, but once you do, you can log in and you receive information on your (or in this case his) specific genetic lineage.

How this helps you, first of all you can see if he is of the ancestry he says he is from. Secondly, The site tells you your relationship to everyone else who has participated in the study. It will produce for you very clearly his timeline. If he had children 2,000 years ago, his markers would be present in diverse people today. If he is one of those “sterile immortals” then he SHOULDN’T have any relationships with anyone. You may even get lucky, and he may show as a DIRECT kin to one of those desert mummies they tested lol. Check the site out, you’ll see what I mean.

Without knowing more specifics, that’s pretty much the best advice I can give you. There is no “forensic” method for determining age, past young adulthood, that is considered accurate enough that it would benefit you here.

As for questions for a 2000+ yr old man, well, I’d have a million. Although right now, I’d be happier helping you to verify his claim...

Here’s to your luck, and never forget, “a pond that is too pure holds no fish”.

take care!"

Now for Ben Abba’s response to Michael’s post. Quoting Ben Abba now:

“Thank you Michael for such an incredible your post! This is exactly the reason I am posting on these forums and blogs: to meet people like you and to exchange ideas on how to handle this incredible person.

As a personal interest, I went looking for the oldest man alive to find out how they survived. What I found was something more. After years of researching this man, I found the evidence that I needed to prove to myself that he was the real thing. After I started putting together everything he said, it became clear that I had to tell the world at least some of what he had to say.

I am agreement with just everything you said. The tips on obtaining a DNA sample; especially where to go after I obtain such a sample as extremely informative. For my real job I am involved with computer security for several financials and on occasion I have to hunt down a fraudster. Usually this is done virtually, but on occasion it is done with real, physical evidence.

I am going to use a strategy like what you mentioned to get a DNA sample(s) from him. Not because I need the evidence for myself, but because I am very curious as to what story it will tell us. Others I know will need to see this DNA for themselves and for that reason I will publish whatever the tests results say.

By the way, he has a son and at least one grandchild that I am aware of. I will try to get a sample of them as well; again out of curiosity.

I will be looking forward to any more of your comments.”

Our first article is by David Smith of “The Observer” newspaper from Great Britain and is titled “2050 and Immortality is Within Our Grasp”. This article is about Britain’s leading thinker on the future, Ian Pearson, the head of the futurology unit at BT; who offers an extraordinary vision of life in the next 45 years.

“He believes that today's youngsters may never have to die, and points to the rapid advances in computing power …. 'We're already looking at how you might structure a computer that could possibly become conscious. There are quite a lot of us now who believe it's entirely feasible”, Pearson said.

'If you draw the timelines, realistically by 2050 we would expect to be able to download your mind into a machine, so when you die it's not a major career problem,' Pearson told The Observer. 'If you're rich enough then by 2050 it's feasible. If you're poor you'll probably have to wait until 2075 or 2080 when it's routine. We are very serious about it. That's how fast this technology is moving: 45 years is a hell of a long time in IT.'

'We can already use DNA, for example, to make electronic circuits … soon we will soon be able to manipulate DNA like electronic circuit boards to achieve extending our lives.

Our second article today is by Gary Vey for Viewzone magazine and is titled “Human Immortality: A Scientific Reality?”. This article starts with the statement : “If you’re alive in 20 years, you may be able to live forever.”

The article continues with these interesting statistics: “In 1786, life expectancy was 24 years. A hundred years later it doubled to 48. Right now, it's 76.

"Over half the baby boomers here in America are going to see their hundredth birthday and beyond in excellent health," says Dr. Ronald Klatz of the American Academy of Anti-Aging. "We're looking at life spans for the baby boomers and the generation after the baby boomers of 120 to 150 years of age."

“The cause of what we call "aging" is now finally being understood … Just when you thought that holographic TV and outer space travel were the future benefits of modern technology, immortality has silently been revealing itself to scientists like Doctor John Langmore of the University of Michigan's Department of Biology. “

The article continues on to describe “telomeres”, a component found in our human DNA, which could control the human aging. Dr. Langmore theorizes how a human enzyme called “telomerase” could be used to control these telomeres.

Another interesting item I found in this article:

"A team of South Korean scientists on Sunday claimed to have created a "cellular fountain of youth," or a small molecule, which enables human cells to avoid aging and dying.

The team, headed by Prof. Kim Tae-kook at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, argued the newly-synthesized molecule, named CGK733, can even make cells younger."

Ben Abba is writing several books to detail his experiences with a man who has already achieved immortality. The first book will focus on this man’s incredible eyewitness accounts of nearly 2,800 years of unwritten history. The first book will be titled: “Secrets of an Immortal”, “An Eyewitness Account of 2,800 Years of History”. At the time of this podcast, this book is currently in first draft. A soon to follow book will reveal this immortal’s secrets for surviving centuries while maintaining his quality of life. This book too is in its first draft.

Learn the Secrets of Immortality from Those Who Have Already Found It.

Yaktivate.com proudly presents its new podcast channel – The Achieving Immortality Podcast Channel.
The Achieving Immortality podcast channel is a place to learn the secrets of immortality from scientists of our age, philosophers of our past, and, on occasion, from real life “immortals” who have lived past 150 years.

The Achieving Immortality channel is the creation of Ben Abba, the author of the forthcoming new book: “Secrets of an Immortal – An Eyewitness Account of 2,800 Years of History”.
